“Princess and the Pea” Performance: Each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from November 30 through December 23, see a live performance of “Princess and the Pea” at Theater!Theatre! (3430 SE Belmont, Portland). Go to the event website for information about reserving free tickets.
Friday, November 30
West Linn Community Tree Lighting: Kids activities at the West Linn City Hall. Treats and more at businesses at Cascade Summit Town Square. 6:00 pm.
Author Michael Connelly will talk about his latest book, “The Black Box,” at Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, 7:00 pm.
Tigard Tree Lighting Festivities: See Santa and the Mayor light the tree at 7:00 pm at Liberty Park (north end of Main Street at Pacific Hwy). Then head to CrossFit PAW (across from the Tigard Post Office) for treats and a visit with Santa.
“Modernist Cuisine at Home”: Scott Heimendinger, director of applied research from the Modernist Cuisine team, will present this book. Powell’s City of Books on Burnside, 7:30 pm.
Saturday, December 1
A Nutcracker Tea: An abridged, family-friendly adaptation of the Nutcracker ballet for ages 4 and up. Tualatin Public Library (18878 SW Martinazzi Ave, Tualatin), 11:00 am.
Seasonal Songs from America’s Back Roads: American roots musician Lauren Sheehan will perform at Gresham Library (385 NW Miller Ave, Gresham), 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm.
Milwaukie Umbrella Parade and Tree Lighting: The parade starts at 4:00 pm at the Waldorf School, followed by the tree lighting at Milwaukie City Hall (10722 SE Main St, Milwaukie).
Sherwood Winter Festival: The festival begins with a parade at 4:00 pm, followed by activities at Cannery Square Plaza in Old Town Sherwood and the Sherwood Masonic Lodge.
Gresham Spirit of Christmas: Live music, tree lighting, Santa, and more. Arts Plaza (401 NE Second St, Gresham), 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm.
Sunday, December 2
Chinese Brush Painting: Learn about and try Chinese brush painting. All materials provided. Woodstock Library (6008 SE 49th Ave, Portland), 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Happy Valley Tree Lighting: Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday music, and more. Happy Valley City Hall, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band will perform at Lakeridge High School Auditorium at 7:30 pm.
