Your Turn: McMinnville, Lincoln City, and Salem Discounts?
January 26th, 2012
Reader Cindy from Spokane asks the following:
“We are going to McMinnville, Lincoln City, and possibly Salem in mid-February. Where can I find coupons or discounts for restaurants, wineries, and attractions other than the Entertainment book?”
Do you have any advice for Cindy? If so, please leave a comment.

I’m a McMinnville resident, Mondays and Tuesdays are dollar slice days at Third Street Pizza. Erath Winery has a choice of free or $10 tasting. It’s been a while since I have been there though, so check if that’s still available. La Rambla has a $25/person paella and sangria special every Wednesday. Only restaurant coupons I know are these advertisements that come out 4x/year, but nothing on there worth recommending. Forgo wineries that charge over $15+ for tasting fee, there are plenty of them with just as great of a view and good wines. (e.g., Barrel Fence Cellars)

Reader Laura says: check out living social and groupons for those cities as you can do searches by areas.

The McMinnville Chamber of Commerce’s FB page does a pretty good job of letting you know when a Portland or Salem Groupon/Living Social Deal features a McMinnville business:

The News Register, the local paper, has a “Half Crazy Deals” page with deals mostly marketed toward locals:

It’s sister publication “Discover Yamhill Valley” also has had some deals in the past but current ones have expired:

You might find/follow your favorite Yamhill Valley wineries on Twitter on this list https://twitter.com/#!/503/imbibe/members, some of which tweet deals.

I just saw a billboard here for halfpricesalem.com, and while it does seem that a lot of the listings are sold out, there a few decent food offers listed. Otherwise, First Wednesday is a good time to be in downtown Salem for music and dining. Have fun!

Thanks to all. That is what I love about couponing. You all are so helpful. Every dollar helps!
