Moondoggies and Dawes will perform at Music Millennium at 6:00 pm.

Saturday, November 20

Fix-It Fair: Workshops on health, home improvement, and saving money. Free lunch and childcare. Ron Russell Middle School, 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Oregon Maritime Museum Family Day: Free admission to families with children under 17. Hands-on fun and educational activities. 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Tapestry of Tales Storytelling Festival: Watch a master storyteller perform at a library near you, or take part in a worldwide storytelling event.

Kidical Mass Tour de Pie: This family-friendly bike ride will explore pie establishments in SE Portland. Bring money for food and meet at 2:45 pm at Ladd’s Circle Park.

“Cupcake Tycoon: Babymouse #13”: Matthew Holm and Jennifer Holm will present the latest installment in the Babymouse series at Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, 2:00 pm.

Sunday, November 21

Miniature Tigers will perform at Music Millennium at 4:00 pm.

Portland Christmas Tree Arrival: At noon, see the tree arrive at Pioneer Courthouse Square and say hello to Santa.

Author Armistead Maupin presents his latest book, “Mary Ann in Autumn,” a new addition to the Tales of the City series. Powell’s City of Books on Burnside, 7:30 pm.

Saturday, November 13

Baby Loves Disco Lemonade Tour: This event includes dancing, kid-friendly snacks, and lots of fun activities for kids. Contact the H&M Store at Pioneer Place (503.241.0257) regarding tickets. Events in other cities have filled up quickly. 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Kanawaksooma (Quiet Thunder) Celebration (Pow-wow): This cultural celebration offers traditional Native American music, dance, crafts, and food for the whole family. Mt. Hood Community College, noon to 10:00 pm.

Free Family Day at the Washington County Museum: Make pine cone turkeys and tunnel books. Pioneer toys and dress-up. 10:00 am–2:00 pm.

Northstar Native American Dance Company will perform Native American music and dance, showcasing artistic collaboration between native and non-native performers. North Portland Library, noon.

Mark Christensen, author of “Acid Christ: Ken Kesey, LSD, and the Politics of Ecstasy,” reminisces about growing up in Portland in the time of Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters. Central Library, 1:00 pm.

Peter Yarrow presents his latest CD, “Songs for Little Folks,” an anthology of 12 songs designed especially for very young children who are just discovering the pleasures of singing along. Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, 4:00 pm.

Bike Trike Spoketacular Puppet Show: This show by Mudeye Puppet Company includes important lessons about creative reuse and bicycling. St. Johns Library at 11:00 am and Holgate Library at 4:00 pm.

Fran Healy will perform at Music Millennium at 3:00 pm.

Sunday, November 14

Sci-Fi Authorfest IV: More than 30 science-fiction and fantasy authors will sign books at 5:00 pm at Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing.

Southwest Washington Wind Symphony will perform at 3:00 pm at Union High School Auditorium.

It’s a good weekend for book lovers: Debbie Stoller, Ursula Le Guin, and Suzanne Collins. Plus, art, film, bikes, Star Wars, and more.

Friday, November 5

Davis Graveyard: Final night! 8703 SE 43rd Ave in Milwaukie.

Be Seen. Be Safe: Sponsored by TriMet, this bike event features an evening bike ride, entertainment, free refreshments, bike safety checks, and more. 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Ursula Le Guin will talk about her book, “Out Here,” which features poems, drawings, and photographs of the Steens Mountain range. Powell’s City of Books on Burnside, 7:30 pm.

Free night at the Children’s Museum: Admission is free from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Coffee Brewing Class: On the first Saturday of each month, learn how using the right techniques and tools will allow you to bring that coffee shop quality home. Public Domain, 11:00 am.

“Star Wars Year by Year”: Gus Lopez, creator of the Star Wars Collectors Archive, will talk about this book, which pulls together four decades of information about the films, comic books, novels, merchandise, and computer games. Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, 4:00 pm.

Museums on Us: Bank of America customers can enjoy free admission to the Pittock Mansion and the Portland Art Museum.
