Free Events in Portland: October 29–31

I love it when Halloween falls on a weekend. This week’s roundup is all about Halloween (with a couple Day of the Dead events thrown in). Have fun out there!

All weekend

Davis Graveyard: The haunting continues through early November. 8703 SE 43rd Ave in Milwaukie.

Halloween on Mississippi Avenue: Free candy, pizza, movies, and more.

Day of the Dead Altar Exhibit: Through November 14, Miracle Theatre Group will display an exhibit of ofrendas (altars) created by local Latino artists in celebration of Día de los muertos (Day of the Dead). The exhibit is open to the public one hour prior to each performance of ¡Viva Don Juan!, as well as between noon and 2:00 pm on October 26, 27, and 28, and November 4, 9, 10, and 11.

Friday, October 29

Blood and Guts Bash: Costume contests, door prizes, “The Vampire Diaries,” and anime. Bagdad Theater & Pub. Doors open at 9:00 pm. Ages 21+.

Saturday, October 30

Healthy Halloween on NW 23rd: Healthy treats, games, face painting, and sweet deals at participating merchants along NW 23rd all day.

Fall Family Festival at Clackamas Town Center: Kids are invited to come in costume with their parents and enjoy make-and-take crafts, face painting, and more from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Stores will be passing out candy from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Sunday, October 31

Halloween Party at Kennedy School: Free activities include trick-or-treating (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm) and Willamette Radio Workshop performing “Vincent Price’s ‘Theater of Blood’” (4:00 pm and 6:00 pm).

Halloween at Bagdad Theater: Costume contest and showing of “The Walking Dead.” Doors open at 8:00 pm; film starts at 10:00 pm. Ages 21+.

Trick-or-Treating at Pix: Dress up in costume and head to Pix for a free treat after 5:00 pm.

Westmoreland Monster March: This annual neighborhood parade will begin at 3:00 pm at Llewellyn School, head down SE Miwaukie to SE Bybee and back to Llewellyn.

Trick-or-Treat in Multnomah Village: Pick up a walking map at Starbucks; parents get a complimentary cup of coffee. Costume contest for parents. Have your photo taken for a donation. 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration: Head to Someday Lounge to build altars, decorate sugar skulls, watch videos, and more. 10:00 am.

Streets of Treats: Head to Bridgeport Village for games, music, and prizes from Radio Disney as well as treats from participating stores. 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Lake Oswego Harvest Fest: Kids can show off their costumes and enjoy games, activities, and a puppet production. Millennium Plaza Park, 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Gresham Safe Trick-or-Treat: Shops in Historic Downtown Gresham will be giving out Halloween treats. 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
