Here’s this week’s list. As always, admission is free for all events. Have a good one!
All weekend
Open House at the Oregon Historical Society: Enjoy a week of free admission and activities. Friday, October 1, through Friday, October 8, during regular hours.
Greek Festival: Food, music, dance, and more. Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, noon to 8:00 pm on Sunday.
Friday, October 1
Free night at the Children’s Museum: Admission is free from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Wells Fargo Fan Fest: Celebrate the start of the Blazers pre-season with an intra-squad scrimmage, Q&A, and more. Free tickets are available at Wells Fargo locations. Fans will also be admitted if they show any Wells Fargo check/credit card at Rose Garden entrances. 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
First Friday Art Walk: Go gallery hopping on the East side. And check out PORT’s First Friday picks.
More art: Galleries in Sellwood will also host openings.
First Friday in Milwaukie: Live music, art exhibits and demonstrations, and more. 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Oregon City First Friday Art Walk: Downtown Oregon City, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Camas First Friday: This month’s theme is Pumpkin Pageant. Downtown Camas, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Montavilla First Friday: Head to Montavilla’s Stark Street strip for live music, art, wine tasting, free chair massages, and more. The fun starts at 5:00 pm.
First Aid Kit will perform at Music Millennium at 6:00 pm.
Museums on Us: Bank of America customers can visit Pittock Mansion and Portland Art Museum free.
Saturday, October 2
Old Apple Tree Festival: Tours of Fort Vancouver, activities for children, live music, and more to celebrate the oldest living apple tree in the Northwest, planted in 1826. Old Apple Tree Park, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Gresham Community BBQ and Celebration: Live music, games, community exhibits, $1 dogs and burgers, and more. Cedarville Park, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”: Come dressed as your favorite Wonka character or in your favorite 1970s costume and watch the original film. Free snacks and door prizes. West Slope Library, 1:00 pm.
Y La Bamba will perform at Music Millennium at 2:00 pm.
Museums on Us: Bank of America customers can visit Pittock Mansion and Portland Art Museum free.
Red Bat Press Open Studio and Bathtub Art Museum: Visit this art studio and museum; learn about letterpress art. 4603 N Kerby, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Sunday, October 3
Hidden Portland: Old Town/Chinatown Walking Tour & Reading: Come along on a walking tour and hear Carye Bye read from her book about the nooks and crannies, collections and curiosities in the Old Town/Chinatown area. Tour starts at Union Station, 2:00 pm.
Young Audiences Artist Showcase: Check out Young Audiences’ offerings for schools: classical Indian dance, storytelling, cello performances, songwriting, circus arts, and more. Buckman School, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
