Free Summer Fun: Outdoor Movies 2010

Very soon, big screens will go up in parks all over the Portland area. Flickering in the twilight will be “Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland,” ”An American in Paris,” loads of family films, and more: all free. Many events offer pre-movie entertainment too. Here’s your guide to it all.

Portland parks: Assorted evenings from July 2 to September 10.

“Flicks on the Bricks” at Pioneer Courthouse Square: Friday evenings from July 23 to August 20.

Multnomah Arts Center: July 2, August 6, September 10.

Ecotrust Building: Thursdays through September 2, 7:30 pm.

Beaverton City Park: Friday evenings in August.

Other Beaverton parks: Wednesday evenings in August.

Vancouver parks: Friday evenings in July.

Mary S. Young Park in West Linn: Saturday evenings in August.

Memorial Park in Wilsonville (under “City Seasonal Events,” click “Movies in the Park”): July 16 & 23; August 13 & 27.

Tualatin Commons: Saturday evenings from July 3 to August 21.

North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District: Friday and Saturday evenings from July 9 to August 14 (except July 30 & 31).

Main St. Park in Gresham: Friday evenings in August.

Bridgeport Village: July 21 & 28, August 4 & 11.

New! Milwaukie: August 13: “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” (original 1971 film) at Milwaukie Covenant field next to Linwood Elementary School.

    Wait, I thought you were sending out the weekend events early. Got excited on getting a jump start on planning the weekend. Thanks for the weekly info Ive come to rely on it. Any chance it could come out on thursday?
