Friday, May 7
Free night at the Children’s Museum: Admission is free from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
First Friday Art Walk: Go gallery hopping on the East side.
Art by Bike: Take a guided bike ride from Pedal’s shop to three galleries on the First Friday Art Walk, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
More art: Murdoch Collections and the Architectural Heritage Center will also host openings.
Camas First Friday: This month’s theme is Camas Poker Tour. Downtown Camas, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
First Friday in Milwaukie: Treasure hunt, $1 ice cream cones, art exhibits and demonstrations, and more. 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Oregon City First Friday Art Walk: Downtown Oregon City, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Willamette Week’s Best New Band Showcase: Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside, Typhoon, and Deelay Ceelay will perform. Berbati’s Pan, 9:00 pm. Ages 21+.
Saturday, May 8
St. Johns Bizarre: Enjoy live music, parade, kids activities, and more. Downtown St. Johns, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Festival of the Birds: Meet birds from the Audubon Society of Portland’s Wildlife Care Center. Plus live music, guided walks, kids activities, and more. Sellwood Park, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
National Train Day: Head to Portland Union Station to see vintage railroad cars, scale model trains, kids entertainment, and more. 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Free admission to the Washington County Museum: Activities for kids of all ages, featuring Native American themed arts and crafts. 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Ten Toe Express guided walk: The first walk of the season covers the Glendoveer Golf Course. 9:00 am.
How we can raise money-smart kids in a money-crazed world: Learn what Lori Sweeney is doing to raise a money-smart and unselfish child, and share your thoughts. Holgate Library, 3:30 pm.
Sunday, May 9
Gateway Mother’s Day Fun Ride and Community Fair: The fair runs from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Bike ride starts at 2:15 pm. 111th Square, at NE 111th Avenue at NE Halsey Street.
Mother’s Day event at Tryon Creek Park: Take a guided walk through the park with your mom. 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Pretty Dress Bike Ride: All are welcome, but you must come wearing a pretty dress! From 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, play croquet in the park. At 2:00 pm, the ride starts. Two Plum Park, 1:00 pm.
Mother’s Day tea: Tigard Library invites moms and their children to enjoy a story, share tea and cookies, have their picture taken, and create a picture frame to celebrate this special day. 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
Free fitness classes for moms: barre3 is offering moms two free classes: a barre3 class at 11:00 am, and a prenatal class at 12:15 pm.
“Ingredients”: a documentary film screening and discussion: “Ingredients” is a locally made, feature-length documentary about the movement to bring good food back to the table and health back to our communities. Central Library, 1:00 pm.
