Friday, April 9

“Queen Lili’uokalani: Last Hawaiian Queen”: Portland author Elinor Langer will read from her soon-to-be-published biography of the queen at Portland State University at 7:00 pm.

Saturday, April 10

Circus at Pioneer Courthouse Square: To celebrate the arrival of Cirque Du Soleil’s KOOZA, local circus artists will perform contortion, stilt walking, juggling and aerial acts. Noon.

Trillium Festival: Native plant sale, guided nature hikes, children’s crafts and activities, local craft and edibles vendors, live music performances, and more. Tryon Creek Park, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Washington County Museum Free Family Day: Activities include kite making and a celebration of Hispanic culture. 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Keeping It Local Fair: A celebration of locally grown, raised, and prepared foods from the Willamette Valley. Wilsonville Community Center, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Alpaca Western Extravaganza: Chance to see lots of alpacas. Clark County Event Center, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Walking with Ramona: This walking tour is for Beverly Cleary fans in grades K through 5. Meet at Beverly Cleary School, 10:30 am.

Franz Nicolay will perform at Music Millennium at 3:00 pm.

Bike tour of SE Portland trees: Tour Sellwood, Westmoreland, Eastmoreland, Reed College, and Oaks Bottom on bike with an arborist as your guide. Meet at Sellwood Park at 9:00 am.

Portland bike tour: Join Portland Bicycle Tours for a free Portland city tour by bike. Meet at the Oregon Convention Center at 7:30 am.

Momentum Magazine launch party: Celebrate the launch of this bike-focused publication. Music, door prizes, and more. Jupiter Hotel, 7:00 pm.

Sunday, April 11

Hearing Voices Storytelling Festival: The week-long festival kicks off today with “Thumbelina,” a shadow puppet show by the Oregon Shadow Theatre. Beaverton City Library, 2:00 pm.

Sunday Cinema Classics: “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad” will be showing at St. Johns Library at 2:00 pm.
