Their music draws on a variety of folk traditions to create its unique sound. The inspiration of composer and musician Shawn Orpinela, whose passion for exploring different folk traditions and playing with rhythm and texture, creates this inspiring and intricately complex music. Their sets feature spirited pieces where instrumental lines dance above the pulsing beat of the cajon, lovely melodies set in lush, ever changing textures, and plain old fun, hand-clapping songs, inviting the audience to connect to a sound that is simultaneously new and familiar.
