9/2: Free Admission Day at Portland Japanese Garden
August 21st, 2008
Admission to the Portland Japanese Garden will be free on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The garden is located in Southwest Portland’s Washington Park and covers 5.5 acres. As a visitor, you get the chance to walk through five different types of Japanese gardens, see an authentic tea house, and take in an excellent view of downtown Portland and Mount Hood.
If you’re feeling ambitious, I also recommend visiting the nearby International Rose Test Garden on the same day. It’s one of my favorite free attractions.
If you can’t make it to the Japanese Garden on September 2, it looks like there will be another free admission day on November 10. Mark your calendar now. In fact, I recommend visiting on both days, if you can, to see how the garden changes with the seasons.

Are you able to verify the upcoming free day? I haven’t found anything on their site.

Never mind. I see it’s the 11th.
