Free Events This Weekend in Portland: July 4–6

Since Friday is July 4, and I hope that means you get a three-day weekend, I decided to publish the summary a little early.

Friday, July 4

• Free Admission Night at Portland Children’s Museum: It’s the first Friday of the month, which means admission to the Portland Children’s Museum is free from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For more information, visit the Portland Children’s Museum website.

• Lake Oswego Fourth of July Star Spangled Celebration: Parade, live music, family-friendly activities and fireworks. For a list of events and information, visit the Lake Oswego website and read this news report.

• Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration in Tigard: Live music, kids’ activities and a fireworks show. Tigard High School Soccer Field starting at 6:00 pm; fireworks at dusk. For more information, visit the City of Tigard website.

• 4th of July Concerts at Willamette Park in West Linn: Performers include Big Mama Gayle & Her Sugar Daddies, Whiskey Flats Brass Band, and Gail Gage. For more information, visit this website.

• Wakeboard Competition and Water Ski Show in Lake Oswego: Malibu Wakeboard Competition and Exhibition will take place at Lakewood Bay at about 1:00 pm, followed by the Portland Water Ski Spectacular at 6:00 pm.
