Oregon Ballet Theatre’s Dance Talks: France

Description: In this special Dance Talks, artists from the field of dance discuss French sensibility as it finds a particularly expressive home in ballet. Engage in a dialogue with the artists and experts involved in the Theatre’s upcoming production. Learn the historical, artistic, and cultural context of the production’s specific ballets.
Talks are led by the Theatre’s Artistic Director, Christopher Stowell, with a panel of up to three nationally-known guests such as choreographers, dancers, musicians, designers, and historians.

Learning to Look: Parent and Child Workshop

Description: Discover the Museum’s Asian Art collection. Learn how to engage your child in art through an interactive tour, group discussion, and informal art-making.

Enduring Traditions of Persian Literature: Asian Art Council Public Lecture

Description: Dr. Richard Davis will speak about the Persian literary works that inspired the art in the exhibition Every Picture Tells a Story: Persian Narrative Painting, opening February 16 at the Museum.
Dr. Davis is Professor and Chair of the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at Ohio State University. He is one of today’s leading scholars in the field of medieval Persian poetry.
